A small form factor, rotating-touch-screen-notebook was once the sole domain of the expensive Japanese brands. In fact the shanzai Bangu Baijian does pay homage to that genre by looking suspiciously similar to Kohjinsha’s SX3 UMPC, which is not in itself a bad thing at all. But it’s the price that really sets the Bangu Baijian apart from the crowd.

The Bangu Baijian is listed at a remarkable 2999RMB (US$440)! The Kohjinsha SX3 for reference goes for about US$1200.
Western Opportunity Analysis:

While the build and battery quality may be of dubious quality the Bangu Baijian points the way to standardized features that are bound to be found on cheaper and cheaper devices. Who will be the first western brands to begin the race to the bottom for rotating, touch screen notebooks?

This 10.2” sized Bangu Baijian uses the Intel Atom V270 processor, the Intel 945GSE+ICH7M chipset (with integrated GMA950 graphics), a Gig of RAM and a 160G HD.
As for ports, Bangu Baijian has two USB2.0 ports, one built-in multi-card reader (SD, MMC, SDHC), one VGA port, one RJ45 port, and the usual earphone, microphone, and DC in ports. Connectivity comes by way of  the 10/100Mbps Ethernet port as well as 802.11b/g wireless and Bluetooth module options.

Conclusions:

A sub 500 US dollars rotating touch screen notebook might be just what the market needs to finally jump start mass adoption of the tablet style devices.
