A magician is only as good as the secret to his fantastical illusions. But in China those mysterious secrets often appear on the web within hours of their being performed on TV.
Liu Qian is a magician from Taiwan who is now famous all over China, and increasingly, the rest of East Asia. His first public appearance in the mainland China was in 2009, during CCTV's annual Spring Festival in front of a live audience and while one billion people watched the televised broadcast. After which he has set off many person on a quest to learn a trick or two.

He was invited and again performed the following year at CCTV New Year's Gala 2010 and CCTV Lantern Festival's Gala 2010.
However, lately, Liu Qian’s magic tricks are often criticized and revealed by magician enthusiasts on popular Chinese magic related forums (

After becoming famous, negative stories about Liu Qian and his personal life often appear in the headlines of newspapers and magazine. I guess when you are famous; people want to see you naked, literally and figuratively speaking.
