Yesterday we featured an article about
Shanzhai players moving towards more CULV-based devices. Today we have a look at three new products from established Shenzhen manufacturer
Phecda, which all sport CULV processors.
2009 has seen China’s
shanzhai notebook/netbook industry move steadily up from smaller 8-10” screens to the more popular 12-13” range. Though largely relying on the Intel Atom processor, very recently we’ve seen the odd CULV product appear on the market. There now seems to be an emerging trend for manufacturers to offer more processing power and also optical drives in their products.

While netbooks make up about 20% of world notebook shipments, in China netbook shipment volumes are somewhat lower than this. Most Chinese consumers buy notebooks as their first PC, and as a result, big screens and comparatively higher performance metrics are mainstream market demands.

So, on to the devices - all three new models have largely the same specs, apart from the CPU configuration.
